This device works exactly like I expected it to, with two exceptions.
When the device is powered on, it plays music. As far as I can tell this feature cannot be disabled. After the music plays, the volume button can be set to 'Off'. Other than that I have no complaints about the audio. It announces 'Single', 'Double', 'Triple', 'Double Bullseye' .. etc .. which is handy for keeping people honest :)
The other issue I have with it is that the numbers printed on the dark sections of the board are very difficult to see. Especially after a few beers. My quick-fix solution is to use a label maker to affix visible numbers to half of the board.
I've read elsewhere that the cricket display only shows the current player's throw. That isn't quite accurate. The bottom row does display everything that anyone has scored, its just all combined .
Also a Tic-Tac-Toe game would rock, but no steel tip devices have that.
